FR101, 102, 103

4 credits each

First Year French I, II, III

Introduces the French language through exercises in reading and speaking; includes elementary composition and grammar. Special attention is given to developing aural comprehension. Foreign language classes must be taken in sequence. Not suitable for heritage speakers. Prerequisites: RD30 or designated placement test score as shown on current indicator chart; WR121 (may be taken concurrently).

FR111, 112, 113

1-2 credits each

Beginning French Conversation I, II, III

Increases competence and ability in listening, comprehension, and speaking; includes writing assignments. Prerequisite: FR103 or permission of instructor.

FR201, 202, 203

4 credits each

Second Year French I, II, III

Reviews grammar and includes a study of representative French authors; attention is given to oral use of the language. Foreign language classes must be taken in sequence. Prerequisite: FR103 or permission of instructor, RD30 or designated placement test score as shown on current indicator chart; WR121 (may be taken concurrently).
